“Grant: Nice. Yeah, it’s pretty impressive. So, the big question of the day is, and the reason why people listen to these recordings is, if I owned an E-commerce store what would be … or any type of business really … but we’re going to focus on E-commerce. What would be the thing that you would recommend I do, first thing that would make the biggest impact on my profits?

Simar: Okay, optimize your checkout. If you’re able to, optimize your checkout pages. I know that is not an easy job, but yes, a few things that you can do right away on your checkout and actually lead to an immediate increase in your revenue. Because if the user is coming to the checkout, it means that they are on the counter ready with their card or cash in hand. If they are not paying you it’s just like a lost sale for you, right? Just try to find out the reason why it is not working for you.

There are various tools out there in the market. For example, Hotjar or Crazy Egg lets you know what users are doing on your various pages. So, if you don’t have much time, even if you have a single day or in a month, right? Is just focus on them, just see the session recordings on what people are doing on checkout pages right? Optimize those checkout pages, maybe inline validation or if there is any error, or there are various things that you can do on checkout. So, optimize your checkout and if you talk generally about E-commerce, I always say that search is the soul of an E-commerce website, right?

So, if you can optimize your search results, if you can optimize your search bar on your E-commerce website so that it makes it easier for the user to find the right product, I guess game on. Yeah.

Grant: Yeah. Some of these, especially these stores like Shopify, is it easy to change the fields in a Shopify store in your opinion? Or would you need a developer for that?

Simar: That’s a pretty broad question I would say. It depends upon how, I guess most of the CMS’s are really user-friendly these days. So, if in case you just want to do basic optimizations, for example, if you want to just increase the size of your search bar, right? So right now, if you have just a small search icon, and you just do not want that search icon, and instead have complete full with search bar; I guess that’s pretty easy to do, right? Then, of course, there are complex things, which can be taken care of by a professional developer. For example, personalization or issuing some offer based on the user behavior.”
